Rolls-Royce, leading British aerospace manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Karimjee Group, an East African conglomerate with interests in automotive, energy, to enhance Tanzania’s energy infrastructure and support its development and industrial growth.
Through this partnership, Rolls-Royce will utilize Karimjee Group’s extensive market presence and local expertise to introduce its full mtu product portfolio to Tanzania. This portfolio includes advanced power generation systems, such as diesel and gas systems, battery containers, and microgrids, designed to meet Tanzania’s growing energy needs with efficiency and reliability.
“Mtu systems power the largest yachts, the strongest tugboats, and the biggest land vehicles and provide energy for the world’s most critical applications. Through advanced solutions like microgrids, we integrate renewable energies and manage the power needs of our customers,” Rolls-Royce’s website reads in part.
A core aspect of the partnership is sustainability. Rolls-Royce’s mtu engines, known for their efficiency and low emissions, operate on a range of alternative fuels including hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), biodiesel, synthetic diesel, natural gas, and biogas. This capability aligns with Tanzania’s environmental goals and will go a long way in heling the East African country reduce its carbon emissions while also promoting greener energy practices.
The mtu solutions will support various sectors, including industrial, commercial, and critical infrastructure, by providing reliable power generation that aligns with Tanzania’s environmental and developmental objectives.
